Take a look at the Awards information which covers the qualifying requirements and criteria, and select the most appropriate category (or categories) and/or specialist award for your product or ingredient.

 

Entries close 13 June 2008. Preliminary entries are judged with finalists being announced 1 July. Additional information will be required from the finalists. Winners are announced on 20 October at the glittering Gala Dinner in Auckland. The Preliminary 2008 Entry Form Can be downloaded here (PDF) or here (Microsoft Word).

 

Product labels must also meet the requirements of the New Zealand or Australian food regulations, as defined by law. Where a product is exported adherence to relevant import country regulations is expected.

Conditions of Entry

  • The product must have been developed for the New Zealand market or for export from New Zealand
  • All entries that are exported must be manufactured in New Zealand. The Company entering these products will have a manufacturing base in New Zealand and/or a New Zealand address
  • Entries that are sold on the New Zealand domestic market may be manufactured overseas. However, those entries manufactured overseas must be innovative to, and unique on the New Zealand market when introduced. The Company entering these products must have a registered New Zealand office and be actively trading in the New Zealand food industry as at 31 Dec 2007
  • Products may only be entered by the New Zealand-based manufacturing or processing company which developed them, not by the marketer or retailer of the end product except on the manufacturer's behalf or as a joint entry with the manufacturer
  • Products on sale in New Zealand must meet the requirement of the New Zealand or Australian Food Regulations
  • Entries associated with exported products should contain evidence that these products and any relevant labels meet the Food Regulations of the overseas target market
  • The product must be new or significantly improved
  • The product must have been launched between June 2006 and 15 June 2008
  • A separate entry form must be submitted for each product
  • Judges' decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into
  • Judges reserve the right to change the categories or products from one category to another if necessary
  • All material supplied will be treated as confidential; indicate if you wish any item returned
